Three Bucks

I looked out the kitchen window this morning. Looking at the back yard. There were Three Bucks on the grass. "Yahoo! I'm gonna make some money this morning!" Oh, wait. Not Three Bucks, as in three dollars. Three Bucks, as in three male deer. With antlers and everything. I got some corn out of the bag for them. As I moved towards the back door, I saw the twins near the door. The twins are two little deer born this spring. We've watched them grow and lose their little white fawn spots. Now here's the funny thing. When I opened the door to throw out corn, the Three Bucks pulled back. The two little twins moved forward. Reminded me of tomorrow's Gospel reading. Jesus comes into Jerusalem. The children move towards Him. Joyfully. The pastors pull back, in fear and jealousy. This is why Jesus said we'd never enter the Kingdom of God, unless we change and become like little children. For us "adults," life is about trying to be in control. Prove I'm good. Protect myself from being hurt. If I bother with God and religion, life is about telling God to help me out. "Change the weather and change them!" Less and less people bother with God and religion. The Almighty doesn't seem to understand that the Almighty is supposed to carry out my orders. For today, I will try to spend some time in silence. I will try to spend in stillness. Become a little less preoccupied with trying to be in control. Open......
