Hydrangea

17 years ago, I moved into a little house on the northwest corner of Nazareth. Down by the driveway, there was a bush. Now I know it was a hydrangea bush. All I knew then was that this bush had different colored flowers, on the same bush! You see a rose bush.... All the flowers are the same color. You see an azalea bush...... All the flowers are the same color. But this bush, this bush by the driveway, had different colored flowers--on the same bush! My fear is kinda like a Hydrangea. My fear "flowers" in different ways. For example, a wise woman once said to me, "Underneath the anger, there is always fear." That's true for me. My anger is usually a "flower" of my fear I'm not good enuf. My jealousy, perfectionism, negativity, are all "flowers' of my fear I'm not good enuf. Maybe I could say my fear is a Hydrangea, where all the flowers are dark. I will try to let go of some of my fear today and let God do a little pruning.
